So Yesterday evening, our friend, Leah, called to ask us if we wanted to pick strawberries at her grandmother's farm. Her grandma had surgery this past week and has not been able to pick them so they were going to go bad if they were not picked soon. Seeing as my hubby is the Smoothie King himself (at least one a day) he jumped at the chance. So we headed over to pick strawberries. Leah met us there and took Nora to play with Zach at her mom's house down the road while Tommy and I picked away. It was sort of fun the two of us outside together and then the fun ended for me. I have horrible allergies and something in the strawberries must have really bothered me because my eyes started itching. Then they started to sting and within about 5 minutes, my left eye swelled up and I could hardly see out of it.
Tommy of course kept picking away not knowing what was going on until I went over to him and said that my eye was bothering me. He took one look at me, got a big smile on his face and said "wow, that looks bad." He is so sweet and caring isn't he!! He sent me down to Leah's parents to get a Benadryl to stop the reaction and so I spent the rest of the night taking Benadryl with my eye oozing all sorts of gunk. This morning, it is still a little swollen on the inside by my tear duct and is itching but at least I don't look like I got punched in they eye. I would have taken a picture of myself if I had not been so uncomfortable and scary looking!
As you can see from the pictures above, Tommy worked his tail off (like always) and got lots of yummy strawberries to freeze for smoothies. At least he had fun!!

I would have loved to see your eye! I know you have so much going on right now that it didn't help things! I pray you have peace this week! I know it won't be an easy one, call me when you need to cry, yell, vent! I love you!
What a sad strawberry story!!! I hope you are okay!!! We just went picking for the first time and we loved it! It was so amazing being able to work for the food you eat. There is just something special about the entire process.
You poor girl! Your really being tested at this point :) Best of luck with the eye!
