The Circus in the Ville

Last week the circus came to town! It was a real circus- not Barnum and Bailey's by any means by still a real circus with real animals (elephants, camels, goats, a zebra, llamas, and a miniature hippo), clowns (which terrified Nora), acrobats on high wire, tightrope walkers, and yummy food (as you can see from the pictures). We went over to the fairgrounds that morning to watch them put the big circus tent up with the elephants and tractors. That was pretty neat except that the tractors and the workers did most of the work. The one elephant that they did have working did some work but he was not near as fast as the tractors so I am pretty sure that he was just for all of to watch. It was still neat to see how it all worked though. Nora really liked seeing how the tent went up. When we got there it was a huge tent spread out on the ground and when we left, it was a huge tent standing up. Nora kept wondering where JoJo was (one of her favorite cartoons) but I kept explaining that the clowns would be out later and that JoJo would not be there. Kids minds!!
We went to the afternoon show. Nora and I went with Zach, Leah and Joe and meet some other friends there including Zie and Carrie. The kids did a pretty good job. They got a little bored after awhile so we just bought them some cotton candy and popcorn and the had a really good time. Nora and Zach got to ride on the elephant and the camel. They did such a good job and loved doing it. It was a neat experience for them. Not much really happens here in our little town so something like this was a great experience.
