Today was Nora's first day of preschool. She was really excited to wear her new shoes and carry her new Tinkerbell backpack. She is going to the 1/2 day program at the public school. I think it will be a really great program and even better is that she and her best friend (her words) Zach are going together. We were lucky to get them in the same class so the transition should be pretty smooth. Today went really well with getting ready and dropping her off- I just hope it continues!! I know that when I had my own classroom, the first day was always exciting and the kids usually did great but the following days were the harder ones because they realize that the situation is going to be an every day event and the newness starts to wear off. I really don't think that will happen with Nora but I have still prepared myself for that possibility!
We met Zach at his house and walked over together. They were both so excited and they walked right in to the classroom and the teacher helped them find their cubbies and they were off playing! When I picked her up, she had blue stuff around her mouth and told me that it was from the icing on the cookies they had for snack. She kept telling me all about it and I just loved hearing what all she had done. I asked her if she had played with the other kids and she said "yeah but I don't member their names- just Zach." SO cute! After we picked them up we decided to have a special treat and head to McDonald's for a special lunch. It is really funny how much those two just love each other.
Anyway, I just wanted to share some pictures for family that could not be here and let you all know that I now have 3 whole hours to myself in the mornings (M-Th) and I am loving that I have energy to get things done. Unlike my hours by myself at night when I am tired from the day!! I cannot believe that she is in school!! She is growing up so much- I love it!!

I'm so glad she got in! She is an adorable little school girl!
SO I was tearing up as I read this and look at my precious niece with her Tinkerbell backpack and her adorable first day of school clothes. Wasn't she just born like 2 weeks ago? Where has the time gone? I guess times flies when you are having fun with such an adorable littel girl. Jo please let NoNo know that I am very proud of her and can't wait to hear all about it! Love you all!
How cute! I love the backpack. Avril's doing head start and I'm a little nervous. On one hand, I'm really excited that she's growing up and stuff. On the other hand, I can't believe she's really growing up and stuff! I bet Nora will love it.
Look how cute she is! Sounds like she had a great day!
Jodie she is a DOLL! It's always better for the parents, too, when the first day is easy. =)
